Although guest occupancy is down considerably over last year, by as much as 30% by some estimates, we’re finding that competent and aggressive management companies are finding ways to keep the bookings flowing. Trusted companies with great reviews and beautiful presentations get first-click status with vacationers selecting their Maui accommodations.
Ho’olei 12-2, which we at Vacation-Maui.net manage, was rented 15 out of 16 available days in April (we were down 14 days to replace an AC unit. Remarkably, we hit an 85% occupancy rate through June, with an average nightly rate of $895. 12-2 is a first-row unit with a garden view.
We’re actively looking to partner with one or two more Ho’olei owners. Our business model is quite different: we’re small (70 total units under management) and intentionally overstaffed.
